Ground Chicken Bolognese & Pasta
1 lb
Springer Mountain Farms Ground Chicken
28 oz can
Crushed tomatoes
28 oz can
Tomato sauce
1 cup
Chicken broth
1
White or yellow onion, diced
2 tablespoons
Garlic, minced
2 teaspoons
Fresh oregano, minced
1 tablespoon
Fresh basil, minced
1 1/2 teaspoons
Kosher salt
1 teaspoon
Fresh, coarsely ground black pepper
1
Bay leaf
1/2 teaspoon
Crushed red pepper flakes
1 tablespoon
Olive oil
1 lb
Dried pasta, cooked per package directions
- Brown ground chicken in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat until cooked through, chopping up into small pieces as it cooks.
- Add and sauté diced onions for about 2 minutes, until translucent.
- Add garlic and cook another minute.
- Stir in tomato sauce, crushed tomatoes and chicken broth.
- Add remaining herbs and spices and stir until combined.
- Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for at least 30 minutes or up to 2 hours for best flavors.
- Remove bay leaf and serve Bolognese over your favorite pasta.
